The challenge

Without a dedicated team, portfolio management stalls in four places

Most funds do care about post-investment work; they just have no one dedicated to it. As the portfolio grows, partners and investment managers handle it on the side.

Data lives in spreadsheets

Records are spread across personal laptops and many files, and the versions disagree. Seeing the whole portfolio takes days of collecting sheets.

Risk is judged by feel

There are no alerts, so a company's health is a matter of impression. Financial problems and missed milestones surface only once something has gone wrong.

Valuations have no method

There is no common method and no working papers. When LPs, auditors or the investment committee ask, the numbers do not match.

Reporting means late nights

Quarterly and annual reports and LP updates are pieced together at the last minute, and every reporting period means overtime.

What we cover

What we manage with you

Every piece of work is recorded in the IVMC system. You do not have to chase for updates; open the system and see where things stand.

Exit · M&A or IPO →

Portfolio records

One file per company, with shareholding structure, financing history and stake changes in one place; registry and shareholding changes are filed as they happen.

Key term tracking

Valuation adjustments, buy-backs and performance commitments in the investment agreement are broken down into trackable items with triggers and due dates, with a reminder and a recommendation before each one falls due.

Alerts, followed up

Financial anomalies, news and missed milestones are graded red or amber. When an alert fires, an advisor checks the facts and records how it was handled.

Valuation method and reporting

IRR, TVPI and DPI calculated on one method, plus board reports and audit working papers. Formal valuations are issued by our securities partner.

Governance support

Follow-up on investment conditions, board and shareholder meetings and major matters; help for portfolio companies in building governance and internal rules.

Exit windows

IPO progress, M&A targets and secondary sale opportunities are tracked. When a window opens, our M&A and IPO service takes over directly.

The rhythm

What a year looks like

Post-investment work is not a one-off report. Setting up the system and the records is only the start; the value comes from the months and quarters that follow.

  1. 01

    Monthly: watch for changes

The dashboard is updated every month, and red and amber alerts are followed up as they come, not saved for month end.

  2. 02

    Quarterly: review

A review meeting with your team goes through the anomalies, term items and next steps; board reports are updated at the same time.

  3. 03

    Yearly: score and plan

A portfolio health score shows how each company has changed, and next year's exit windows are mapped out in advance.

  4. 04

    As things happen

When a term falls due, a major news item breaks, a company raises money or an exit opportunity appears, we follow up straight away.

Service and system

How the service and the system fit together

Two sides of one thing. The service is people and rhythm; the system is where the work is done.

The service answers who watches, what, and how often
Our advisors set the rules, define how records are kept, track key items and hold regular reviews.
The system answers where the work and data live
Records, alerts, reports and term items are all logged in IVMC, can be viewed and exported at any time, and belong to your fund.
Want only the system and run it yourself?
See the IVMC page for features and deployment options, and book a demo.
Want someone to manage it with you?
Stay here and start with a portfolio review. Moving from running the system yourself to advisory later uses the same data, so nothing starts over.

How we work together

It starts with one conversation

  1. 01

    First call

Free, about an hour, no contract needed. We learn how many companies you manage and where things stand.

  2. 02

    Portfolio review

We go through your records, key terms and risk points, then propose a plan and a split of responsibilities, quoted to scope. You can start with one fund or a group of companies.

  3. 03

    Training and deployment

Two days of AI agent training; the system is deployed and your historical data is migrated and checked for completeness.

  4. 04

    Ongoing advisory

Monthly follow-up, quarterly reviews and an annual health score, renewed yearly.

Governance after investment

A Series B AI company · Artificial intelligence

Challenge
Rapid growth after the round left governance behind; key agreement terms were not being followed through ahead of the next due diligence.
Solution
We deployed IVMC to turn agreement terms into trackable actions, helped build the governance and organisation structure, and supported implementation with our advisors.
Results
The governance framework was in place within about six months, and the company passed due diligence for its next round.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can't find your answer? Call +86 400-009-0406 or leave a message below.

We have no dedicated post-investment team. Is this service for us?
Yes, it is designed for exactly that. Our advisors set the rules and the record-keeping method and keep track of the key items; at each quarterly review we agree with you how to handle anomalies and what comes next. The exact split of work is written out in the review plan.
What is the difference between buying the system and buying the service?
Buying the system gives the tool to your team, which runs it after deployment and training. Buying the service means our advisors manage the portfolio with you on a monthly and quarterly rhythm, with every step in the system. Both use the same system and data, and you can move from one to the other.
We manage everything in Excel today. Is migration hard?
During implementation we migrate historical fund, company and document data into the system and check it for completeness. You provide your current spreadsheets and files and confirm the definitions.
How is our data kept safe?
The data belongs to your fund. With on-premises deployment, the knowledge base and business data stay on your own servers; confidentiality obligations are set out item by item in the agreement.
Who issues valuation reports?
We calculate IRR, TVPI and DPI on one method, work through the valuation logic and prepare audit working papers; formal valuations are issued by our securities partner.
